Paul Blake Smith

Paul started his career as a patternmaker for the plastic industry before progressing in to the cast metals industry serving a four year apprenticeship as a pattern maker for G Perry & Sons in Leicester winning several awards including the UK Skills Olympics and National competitions.

Paul continued as a skilled patternmaker for a further 2 years with the ‘Pattern Equipment Company’ with whom he progressed in to the design department being one of the first users of Catia V5.

After taking the challenge of becoming self-employed supplying design & manufacturing solutions for the foundry & Automotive industry Paul later teamed up with Andrew Randle & Patrick Mann to form Design Technologies UK Ltd.

Andrew C Randle

Andrew is a time served pattern-maker/model-maker, joining Nuneaton Patterns Ltd in 1989 where he served a 4 year apprenticeship in which time winning a number of national pattern-making and model-making awards.

Andrew was taken on by Nuneaton Patterns Ltd at the end of his apprenticeship where he would go onto work for the company for 17 years. During this time moving from the shop floor onto CAD in 1996 working on Pro-engineer and Catia V5 software which included travelling to Mexico to work onsite on a number of different foundry projects, gaining valuable experience . In 2008 Andrew teamed up with Paul Blake-Smith and Patrick Mann to form the company Design Technologies UK Ltd.
